Going to the beach!
A friend has invited me to go with her to Hilton Head in a couple of weeks, and I can’t wait. I haven’t been there in years. On top of that, I have been offered my family’s condo in Destin, and I can go there in the fall. Destin wasn’t badly hurt from the oil spill, so it is still OK. I am thrilled about both trips except for two reasons. I only have enough vacation time for one of them, so the other will be time off without pay. I can’t really afford that, but you can’t pass up vacation, can you? The other is, who to invite to Destin. I have asked friends to go with me in the past, and they have loved it. But I think they want to be invited back, and who can blame them. I just get the condo once a year though, so I have to spread the joy around. I hope they understand that. I have a lot of teacher friends, I can cross them off right away. They can’t go during the school year. Once I figure it out, I probably won’t say much about it. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
